About Project
At the start of the year, Eunice hit her 10th student. To commemorate this milestone as well as to do a little something for her students, she hoped to organise a piano recital, as a stage to showcase their hardwork. She wanted this to be a memorable experience, featuring all their diverse stories and backgrounds; her students come from all walks of life, but music is able to transcend language, age and race, and bring them together.

More ideas began to surface as the planning progressed. Beyond just her students, Eunice wanted to expand the impact that this event could have. She wished to be able to support charitable causes, as well as to support small businesses, which led to her partnering with organisations. From a small desire to do something for her students, this dream has grown into something so much bigger.

I wanted to capture the close knit ties and friendships between Eunice and her students, which was why we went with a handdrawn aesthetic – the strokes capture the tenderness and familiarity of the students, and the imaginative journeys they went on together as they learn to play the piano. The simple black and white palette also echo the colours of the instrument. Overall, the design hopes to achieve a sense of timelessness and agelessness, a capsule of a moment in time.
