About Paperlileis
Paperlileis began as a space for me to explore my artistic voice beyond school projects. At the time, I was transitioning from analogue to digital media – and in hindsight, my early attempts were a little wonky (to say the least).

During the pandemic, however, I developed a style that has since become recognisably my own: brisk and textured, filled with light and warmth. Much of my work draws from my travels around Singapore – cafés, shophouses, and everyday landscapes. I illustrate not just what I see, but what I feel in the moment, weaving small narratives within the confines of each page. To me, that’s what illustration is about: telling a story within a scene.

I share my work on Instagram (@paperlileis), where I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with clients such as Swarovski and Park Side (by PS Cafe), and to participate in art markets including Illustration Arts Festival and Artcade.

I’m always excited to hear how others interpret my work. It’s especially meaningful when someone shares that a piece reminds them of a specific memory, or draws comparisons to artists like Edward Hopper. While art-making can be deeply personal and often solitary, it’s this connection with others that keeps me inspired to create.

Through illustration, I hope to craft meaningful and memorable experiences. If you have a story to tell or a project you’d like to bring to life, I’d love to hear from you – let’s create something that resonates!
